I have been asked what I mean by ‘word of honor’. I will tell you: Place me behind prison walls-walls of stone ever so high, ever so thick, reaching ever so far into the ground-there is a possibility that in some way or another I might be able to escape, but stand me on the floor and draw a chalk line around me and have me give my word of honor never to cross it. Can I get out of that circle? No, Never! I'd die first.”
-Karl G. Maeser
This statement is trying to say that you can build a big prison but you won't ever try to escape because you gave them your word. When you give them your word it's like a promise. That promise can never be broken. That is why it's called word of honor. Everyone is capable of keeping their word of honor. It all depends on what kind of character he/she has.Everyone has a free will to do whatever they'd like. Like I said it comes down to what kind of person they are. If they were ctw people then they would probably wouldnt keep it and if it were ctr people then they would keep it .
